Father’s Day treat

15 06 2008

I always look forward to Father’s Day.

We have some fine traditions in the Belm household regarding this day dedicated to all things dadage.

Even now that our three childs have grown up and all but one has escaped, some of these worthy traditions endure.

The main one is that my wife (Mrs Belm) gets to relax, kick off her slingbacks and get pampered on throughout the day. As usual, I have hired a butler and manservant to do the bidding of Mrs Belm (my wife) so that she doesn’t have to lift an unnecessary finger on Father’s Day.

Here she was, earlier, being pampered and stuff:

That’s the butler, manservant and Bernie, the dog belonging to my driver Klippings who we are looking after for a few days whilst he goes gold prospecting in Lincolnshire.

My wife (Mrs Belm) deserves such treatment and gifts of relaxation, more so this year given the recent unfortunate chain of events caused by our oafish neighbour Hugh G Leigh-Pithie.

As for myself on this day of dadage, I’ll be taking myself down to the Bedknobs & Broomsticks to do a bit of flicking and prodding over a couple of pints of weak shandy.

Days don’t get much better than this.
